The Great Lakes Bay Veterans Coalition is conducting its 4th annual personal hygiene goods drive to support Veterans and their families in need. Our goal is to fill a trailer with enough materials to stock their donation pantry for the next year. See the newsletter for Items Needed!

Parent / Teacher Conferences
A signup genius for K-8 Teacher Conferences was sent out last week. If you did not receive the sign up or need help signing up, please contact the office. Mrs. Dominowski will be in the cafeteria during most of the conference times and can help you with Scrip and/or your Fast Direct account.

School Elections
Tomorrow our student council is hosting a school election. Students will be voting for a school president to represent the entire student body. Our candidates who have been campaigning are Julia Clare and Simon Hurst. Also on the ballot are a vairety of fun proposals. Don’t forget to wear red, white and blue tomorrow for election day.

Fall Harvest Festival
Fall Harvest Festival will be held on October 29. Students may choose to dress in a modest school appropriate costume on this day. Please no bloody scary, or gory costumes. No skulls or ghosts. Thank TEAM for providing apple cider and donuts. Parents are welcome to hand out candy in the cafeteria, 8 – 9 a.m. You must RSVP to the office.

Apple Pies!
Another year of apple pies is in the books. We set a new record again this year, making 3,292 Dutch Apple Pies. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who sold, delivered, and helped with any step of the process. Help of everyone is so crucial and we were blessed once again with many willing hands to help with this huge fundraiser for our school.

The Zazzy Zion Zinnia (Triple Zs)4H club. Meetings will take place the 2nd Tuesday of each month in Zion’s Cafeteria from 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. We will be meeting the 2nd Tuesday of each month. 4-H is a family affair and we will expect an adult to attend meetings with the child.

Apple Pie Time! With Apple Pike Work Days in the gym this year, gym class will be held outside. We strongly encourage you to send an extra pair of socks and dry outdoor shoes for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday’s gym classes.

When your student is home ill or for whatever reason, homework can be picked up the day after your student was absent.

Zion’s Book Club is a new opportunity for students in fifth through eighth grades. We will meet after school in the 5th/6th grade classroom from 3:15 – 4:00p.m. on October 20th. Students will vote to choose the book that we will all read and discuss at our next meeting. Contact Mrs. Menz with questions.

Apple Pie Time! The Apple Pie days are Wednesday, October 12th – Saturday, October 16th. We are working on the final number, but we do know we will be making over 3,000 pies again this year!

Late orders can still be sent in this week.
