Lutheran Schools Week
January 24th – January 28th is Lutheran Schools Week. We will have themed dress-up days and students K-8 will be going bowling on Friday. Permission slips will be coming home. Drivers MUST be able to drive 3 or more students.
Pancakes w/Pastors
Pastor Hemme and Pastor Menz will be serving pancakes on Monday, January 24th from 8-8:30 a.m. as part of our Lutheran Schools Week. Everyone is welcome. Please RSVP to the office so we have enough supplies.
January Collection Focus: Orphan Grain Train
This is a great time to clean out those closets. consider donation clostes of all sorts – kids, baby, teen and adult to the Orphan Grain Train. Drop-off items to the collection bin in the lobby at Valley Lutheran High School or at Zion’s office, where a VL students will deliver to Valley.

Church Camp
Church Camp 2022 will once again be held in Cadillac, MI at Mitchell State Park. The Church camp will be held July 29 – 31, 2022. Everyone is welcome to come and camp. Reservations are due by January 9th. Contact Gail at (989) 415-8170 or Gary at (989) 205-1958 if you have any questions.
2nd Quarter Worship Offerings
The Great Lakes Bay Veterans Coalition is conducting its 4th annual personal hygiene goods drive to support Veterans and their families in need. The trailer has been filled, we are still collecting worship offerings until next Wednesday. After that a check will be sent to support the Coalition.

Christmas Break / No School
Christmas break is December 20th through December 31st. Join us for Christmas Eve Worship at 7:00 p.m. or 10:00 p.m. Christmas Day Worship is at 9:00 a.m. and New Year’s Eve Worship will be held at 6:30 p.m. School resumes January 3rd.
Join Us for Dinner
Please join us for a full free turkey dinner with all the fixings and dessert, provided by our church for Jesus’ Birthday Party. Dinner is served from 5:30 – 6:15 p.m.
Live Nativity
We are going to journey to Bethlehem again. This year you will be able to walk through. Park your vehicle and walk over to the beginning of the journey, the west side of the church. All students preschool – 8th grade will be a part of the same service. The path is plowed and will provide assistance if needed.

Basketball Season
Basketball season has started with practices. B-Girls will practice on Monday and Thursday from 6:00 – 7:15 p.m. A-Boys will practice Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Schedules have been provided by coach. There will be no practice on Friday, December 17. Cheer will practice Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15- 4:45 p.m.
The Spirit of Giving
Thank you to all families who donated to the student councils teen Christmas outreach project. They collected 563 items and hundreds of dollars in gift cards. The items will be deliveries this week. The organizers of this project were very moved by the student councils willingness to help. Kids helping kids is an amazing thing!
