Love Thy Neighbor – Service Week
Zion really embraced the “Sent to Serve” theme this Lutheran Schools Week, celebrated the week of January 25-29, 2021. Celebrations happened each day with a fun dress-up theme, activities for the students, devotions, and daily drawings for prizes. Each year we also have a Penny War in efforts to raise money for new playground equipment, this year we choose to “serve” instead of receiving. We decided that all money collected in the Penny War would go to locally owned businesses in our community that may have been affected by Covid-19. We raised $3,117 during the week.
