Hi, I’m Emily Menz. I teach 5th and 6th grade English language arts. I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2004 with a double major in English and Spanish and completed a Master’s in Education from Grand Valley State University in 2012.
Before coming to Zion in 2017, I spent four years as an adjunct instructor in the English department at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, which was preceded by three year teaching middle school Spanish. I am passionate about literature and learning and believe that the critical thinking and communication skills that are developed through language arts instruction are essential to one’s personal success in life.
I love working at Zion to support our students, both academically and spiritually, as they grow in their abilities and strengthen their identity in Christ.
