Christ-Centered Focus
All-School Morning Devotions
Every school morning, except Wednesdays, our day begins together in the cafeteria. Each day a teacher leads us in a short devotion. A weekly Bible verse is recited together, and a weekly verse of a song is learned. After announcements and the pledges, students return to class to begin their work.
Wednesday Chapel
Each week the faculty and student body gather in the sanctuary for a time of worship and praise. Chapel is led by the Zion Pastors and invited speakers. The Chapel service typically includes Scripture reading, singing, a message about God’s Word, and prayer. Each quarter we have a designated Chapel offering to support a non-profit either in the community, church or in the world.
Religion Curriculum
Knowledge of God’s Word is important for students to read and learn as they see God’s plan for their lives. Each grade level has a time set aside to study God’s Word, at an age-appropriate level. 7 th & 8th graders participate in Confirmation class taught by our Pastors.
Scripture by Heart
Memory Bible verses or sections of Luther’s Small Catechism are assigned to students by grade level. Students may be quizzed orally or in a written form for Memory work. The Christmas program also offers the opportunity to memorize Scripture
Prayer
Prayer is a fundamental part of the day at Zion. The staff begins the day in Scripture and prayer in the morning before the students even arrive. Classes begin the day in prayer and stop at appropriate times to include prayer in their day. Lunch and snack times, sports programs, meetings, and other activities begin with prayer as well. Families are always welcome to submit prayers to us.
Worship
All are welcome to join us for worship at Zion Lutheran on Saturday evening or Sunday morning. If you belong to another community church, we hope that you attend there regularly. Students have opportunities throughout the year to participate in worship to share Jesus’ love and give thanks to God
What's Going On Today
What's New
(Sorry this Is a late update!)
Saturday was our last full day at Stronghold❤️. Sinuon and Naomi let us help prep for the Pastor’s conference meal. Over 70 Christian Pastors and their families attended!! Most have only been in the faith for a few years and share Christ with some of... the most remote areas!! Deacon Townley did a fantastic job presenting!✝️ Stronghold’s student led band provided worship music. These kids are amazing and have had no formal training at all!
After a delicious lunch, we hopped in the van and visited a Kampot pepper plantation. Amazing!
We returned to Stronghold for one last dinner (and best) made by Naomi❤️. Pastor Jesse gave us communion and we also took time to recap in thankfulness all God had accomplished in a week!
Love to all!
It’s always fun shopping for Buck Night. All of this along with a 6.5 Creedmoor will be given away as we enjoy an evening of deer hunting stories. See you at 6 pm tonight, March 8th, at the Miller’s. Bring a shoulder mount, a set of antlers, or even a just a picture and a story. BYOB and a ...snack. See you soon!
Basketball, Reading month, Lent...
Come be a part of the Zion family!
