Sent to Serve
Outreach Sent to Serve Zion really embraced the “Sent to Serve” theme this Lutheran Schools Week, celebrated the week of January 25-29, 2021. Celebrations happened each day with a fun dress-up theme, activities for the students, devotions, and daily drawings for prizes.
Each year we also have a Penny War in efforts to raise money for new playground equipment, this year we choose to “serve” instead of receiving. We decided that all money collected in the Penny War would go to locally owned businesses in our community that may have been affected by Covid-19. We raised $3,117 during the week. Here are the local businesses we supported for our service week:
Nori’s Restaurant of Auburn
Jolene’s in Crump

Honoring Those Who Served
Veteran’s Day is celebrated every year on November 11, honoring the service of all U.S. military, who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Veteran’s Day coincides with other holidays including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day which are celebrated in other countries that mark the end of World War I, which was formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. We host a Veteran’s Day each year at 9:00 a.m.
