Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML)

Lutheran Women’s Missionary League

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League is an organization of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, and every woman in the congregation is an automatic member. It is an organization for Christ-centered women of all ages and cultures.  Zion’s LWML meetings are held in conjunction with the Ladies of Zion meetings on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in January, April, September, and October. The mission statement of the LWML is to assist each woman of the LC-MS in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.  There are Prayer Days, Rallies and Retreats held throughout the year and all women young and old are encouraged to attend. Each lady can have a mite box in which she can deposit her loose change which is then emptied at our regular meetings.  These monies are then remitted to the Michigan District LWML who, in turn, send a percentage to the National LWML to be used to fund various mission projects voted on at the national convention held every other year.  A small mite box can be picked up from the Ladies drawer in the Zion narthex.  A large mite box into which you may place the mites you collect can be found in the narthex the last Sunday of the every month.
